"New SAF Assessments Quantify Huge Cost of European Mandates"

General Indexes latest SAF price assessments featured in the November issue of Jet Fuel Intelligence, a publication part of the Energy Intelligence group.

"Airlines face an estimated $2.6 billion hike in their fuel bills in Europe next year when new EU and UK sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) blending mandates start from Jan. 1. That figure is based on new spot SAF price assessments launched earlier this month by price reporter General Index (GX), which currently show a $1,364.75 per ton spread between neat SAF and regular jet fuel prices in Northwest Europe. GX assessed fossil jet barges at $708/ton on Nov. 20 and neat SAF barges at $2,072.75/ton."
